“I really got to see the richness and fullness of God’s word. How when you really look into it there is a lot more then just that first glance…It is really amazing to see what God has left us. His word is really a guide for us and really helps us to live our lives and be mindful of others around us and shows us how to love and how to be wise and how to make right decisions and do what he’s really called us to do and to be walking in the Spirit. I’ve really seen that through God’s word and that’s something that he’s taught me.” ~Noah Hunter '05

“Basically what God has taught me on this trip is what it takes to be a leader in today’s world. Leadership is so demanded in our world today it just takes more struggle and more time then I ever thought so. This trip has really opened my eyes to see how effective leadership needs to be and how much struggle it will take but in the end how great a reward it will be in heaven for such works.”

“My favorite part of Life of Adventure this year was probably the fellowship with the brothers that I had. You know you get to struggle with them you get to fight with them you also get to learn and you just have that intimacy as brothers on this trip. Climbing up a mountainside you can encourage each other you can help each other and you also know what they are going through. And just every night you get to talk to them, you get to laugh with them, and sometimes you get to cry with them. And just the fellowship with the brothers and just the growth you get to see on this trip is amazing.”

“Unfortunately no one can be told how awesome LOA is, you have to experience it for yourself. Bring extra pairs of underwear.” ~Craig Colquitt '04 & '05

“God has taught me how to listen to him…You look out at all the silence and you just feel like God is just telling you, ‘Look at what I’ve done and look and see and listen and know who I am.” It is probably the biggest thing that I got out of it was just being silent and knowing that He is God.”

“Favorite thing about the trip was going to Buckskin Gultch…and just walking through there and looking up and I mean you got rock walls going like 100 plus feet up on either sides of you and in some places almost squeezing to get through and it was phenomenal.”

“Being out here it is humbling to see the size of everything. Like the size of the canyons we are in and being however many thousands of feet up and looking down and being able to see everything out in front of you. Even at night with as clear as the starts are and looking up and you can see pretty much like the whole like everything in the universe. And it is so humbling to know that God put it all there. At the same time he loves you more. He put all the stars up there and he know them all but he loves us personally and it’s so reassuring at the same time as it is humbling that a God that is that huge would put these things here for our enjoyment and his Glory.”

“It’s an adventure...It gets your adrenaline going.”

“Come with high expectations. Dream big because you can imagine how things are going to look but then when you get out and experience them it strikes you speechless. You can’t really get prepared for what you are about to see. So just dream away and imagine whatever you want and when you come out and see it it is just going to take your breath away and you are going to be awestruck by what God has done.”
~Eric Fischer '05

“My favorite part was sitting on the edge of Angel’s Landing, a 1,200 foot cliff, and just looking down over the canyon and just being in awe of God’s great glory.”

" LOA is a trip to get away from the uniformness of everyday life, get away from the evils of this world and to grow in your faith and watch God work in other people’s lives. It is stepping out of your comfort zone literally 2000 miles away from home to praise and learn about God with a group of lively and enthusiastic Christians. It’s been the most encouraging trip of my Christian life.” ~David Esposito '05 & '06

“To often in my life I look to God as this guy who will just put rules and regulations on my life to keep my from having fun or from doing whatever I want to. From this trip I have realized that God is really on my side. That he wants to stand with me in my trials and struggles and that by using these he is trying to set me free. He is trying to set me free from all the things of the world and all the temptations and stuff I face every day. I think that God really rejoices when I overcome these things...he’s a friend.”

"My favorite part has definitely been ‘Bangers and Mash’ night. Unfortunately, I can’t really tell you what it is. Partly because I’m not even really sure. It’s kinda a mystery and I guess you have to go on LOA to find out for yourself.”

“LOA is all about taking Christians out of there everyday, hectic, go-with-the-flow lives into different slower scenery and getting out into God’s creation and really getting a chance to calm down. By calming down with God in the wilderness he really speaks to you in ways that you wouldn’t really notice just because our world is so loud these days. And you really start to focus on yourself and what your purpose is as a Christian. By going through the ‘Master Plan of Evangelism’, our book, we kinda learned that our key in God’s realm is to make disciples. The Great Commission is to go make disciples of all the nations.” ~Daniel Paulk '04, '05 & '06

“God has taught me to think positive about what I can do and to push myself to accomplish things that I normally couldn’t do without his help.”

“The trip is about growing in your faith, learning more about God and to explore god’s creations and to have a good time in doing all of it.”
~Mark Jones '05

“If you long for a challenge and you really want to be challenged in your faith and challenged physically. If you want to be out in God’s creation and a time away from the cells phones and the internet and the everyday schedules just to get away and think about life and where you stand and your priorities, then this is the trip for you because you’re out there!”

“To be intentional with my life. To have a purpose for my life. Not just let life blow me around in the waves. That there is an importance to going against the stream, and to having goals and to having a game plan with what God wants you to do not just float around. So in a nut shell, I’ve learned how to be intentional with everything I do in every aspect of life.” ~Matt Humphrys '04

“I had never been to the west before camping. I had always been on the east side I’ve always been in the Appalachians. It’s been beautiful it’s been wet it’s been hot and humid. And there these trees everywhere and you can’t see any of these beautiful open views but when you got out to the west our first morning we got out of our tents and I just took pictures from the tent just looking at the Tetons. They were right across this huge valley and it was amazing you saw for miles and miles all around you…We went out hiking and you saw this amazing rugged terrain it was so fresh so new.” James McSaveny '04

“Being out here I was able to share my burdens that I’ve been carrying by myself for the past months. I was able to share those burdens with brothers in Christ and instead of being condemned for them being uplifted and shown how I can go on and how I can be strengthened from them.” ~Steven Litton '04

“I say that this trip, more than anything, God has taught me that I can use my testimony to be an effective witness for him. Before I never really considered that my life and my mistakes that I have made could have a positive impact for his kingdom.” ~David Paulk '04

“This trip was honestly the best experience that I’ve ever had like in my entire life…I feel that God just really drew me closer to Him on a level that I’ve never really felt before.”

“This is the most impactful trip that I’ve ever been on in my entire life. No retreat or conference can ever compare to the life lessons that I’ve learned on this trip.” ~Julia Shull '04

“I was totally blessed by the teaching and the outdoors. I loved the whole experience."

"The biggest thing that God taught me was how to lead and how to disciple others.” ~Bethany Monroe '04

God taught me that, “Prayer is everything.” ~Melanie Bryant '04
