I'm excited that you are thinking about joining us this summer! It truly will be a trip you will never forget! I began Life of Adventure in the summer of 2004, 7 years after God put it on my heart while hiking in Glacier National Park. I have a passion for God, adventure, the Bible, teaching, reading, camping, hiking (pretty much anything outdoors) and helping people come to know and grow in their relationship with God!

I am so excited about Life of Adventure this summer! I love to go camping and hiking, and simply being out in God's beautiful creation, so I'm looking forward to experiencing all of those things at a whole new level this summer. Spending time with students and helping them grow in their relationship with the Lord is one of my favorite parts of ministry and being able to do that while in the great outdoors seems like the absolute best summer possible! I can't wait to grow alongside the students, as we learn more about how great our God is.

Fitness and outdoor recreation has always been a passion of mine and when I first heard about LOA, back when I was in college, I KNEW it was something I wanted to do! But it’s not just about the hiking and camping for me. Building students in their faith is my absolute favorite part of ministry. So the reality that I get to disciple students in the great outdoors is somewhat surreal to me – it’s a beautiful collision of two of my biggest passions. What could be greater than that!?! Needless to say, I’m really excited to hike, camp and grow together in our love of Jesus.

 

Keith Spence - Co-leader for LOA I

I love the outdoors and recreation whether hiking, camping, horseback riding or wildlife and landscape photography. As a child I spent every summer in Wyoming so I look forward with great enthusiasm to being back in the Grand Tetons this summer with LOA. One of the great highlights of my life was hiking to the Mount Everest Base Camp in 2002 and 2007. As we experience creation, we gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the glory and greatness of God! This year marks my 27th year of service with Campus Crusade for Christ, a majority of those years spent in East Asia. This wonderful journey began when I first became a Christian as a high school student through Student Venture. My wife and I currently serve as volunteers with Student Venture in Orlando, FL. I am excited to be with you this summer as we strengthen our faith together in Jesus Christ.

Whiteny Laney - Co-leader for LOA I

I can't wait to experience Life of Adventure! When I am outdoors viewing and experiencing all God's beautiful creations I feel closer to Him than anywhere else!! On top of that I really enjoy camping and being outdoors. I even hiked the Appalachian Trail from North Carolina to Tennessee when I graduated High School. After college (Go Gators!) I was a radio personality on a Top 40 station before attending a mission trip to the mountain area of the Philippines. God totally transformed my heart and desires in those mountains so I came home, quit my job at the radio station and joined staff with Student Venture, Campus Crusade for Christ. I am so excited to spend some time getting to know you and spending time in all God's beauty in the Grand Tetons. I feel beyond blessed God has called me to such a Life of Adventure!!

I am looking forward to hanging out this summer and being a part of the 'Life of Adventure' team.  Combining the outdoors and discipleship is a win-win in every way to me.  I have had the privilege of working directly with teens for over 25 years now with Student Venture.  This opportunity to get into God's creation with a focus of growing closer to Him is an environment for God to show up in mighty ways in all of our lives.

 

Rober Frazier - Co-leader for LOA II

I grew up spending every summer in the mountains of central Idaho. The most significant spiritual experiences of my life have been in the mountains. I love camping, hiking, backpacking, rafting and rock climbing. Having worked with Student Venture the last 6 years in Boise, ID and Boston, MA, I am passionate about helping young people grow in their faith, and I love the opportunity to do that in an amazing setting like the Grand Tetons. Looking forward to an amazing trip with all of you.
